Our knitting patterns for clothing for Barbie, Action Man and HM Armed Forces toys currently use Rowans Classic Siena 4-ply cotton yarn as the main yarn. We try to be eco-friendly with our choices of knitting yarn, but may use other yarns that have a special appeal, for example fluffy, eyelash yarn.

A wide variety of colours and shades available

As our items are so small, you may find it easier using smaller knitting needles. Double-ended needles, with a rubber band on one end, are ideal... and then you can use them for I-cords too!

And a crochet hook about 3.5mm is used with some items.

Snap Fasteners

The 7 mm / 0.25 inch size is big enough for little fingers to use, yet small enough so as not to show too much. Good for Hand / Eye coordination too!

You will require a needle and thread to attach these to the items. Technically, this is not good practice, because, by sewing the snap fastener onto the item, the needle will undoubtedly split the yarn. But our knit4dolls knitting patterns are far from conventional anyway...
